The Story So Far

Kingdom Hearts… A realm that is neither good nor evil, light nor dark, yet it holds the power of every lost heart to ever exist. Many have tried to gain it’s strength, but all have failed in the end. None have made it closer than one man though; a man named Xehanort.

His first attempt was just a test. He wanted to test the original Keyblade wielders’ limitations, and he succeeded. All of them were forced to choose successors, and in the end they were all gone in some way. He even gained a new body from this attempt, the body of a young man named Terra. Young yet again, and rejuvenated, he set out to plan his second attempt.

Xehanort eventually gained the trust of a man known as Ansem the Wise, the king of Radiant Garden, and became his chosen apprentice. Being under this man had it’s rewards; Xehanort was able to use new technologies that he had never seen before, and with them he secretly began his work on the Heartless.

His second attempt was almost a success, sending his master into hiding and stealing his name. Xehanort lost control of himself though, and was reborn yet again, but this time as two entities. A Heartless and a Nobody. The Nobody, Xemnas, fled to grow stronger, while the Heartless, “Ansem”, lead villains from several different worlds to try and consume the universe in eternal darkness. Kingdom Hearts would have been his, were it not for three things he had overlooked:

Sora, Riku, and King Mickey.

The three destroyed the Heartless mastermind, by using the light of Kingdom Hearts. Afterwards though, it seemed that Riku and King Mickey were out of the picture. The only thing standing in the way of ultimate power now were Sora, Donald, and Goofy.

Xemnas, unknown to everyone else, had grown stronger now, creating a team of the most powerful Nobodies to follow him. This group’s name was Organization XIII. He still felt that he needed to grow stronger, so the mastermind decided to lay low. Marluxia, number XI, had other things in mind though.

Creating a mirrored version of Castle Oblivion, Marluxia used Kairi’s Nobody, Namine, in his plans to control Sora. Namine, due to Kairi’s connection to Sora’s heart, was able to pull at the threads of Sora’s memories once he stepped inside the castle. Sora did just that, but even as his memories dwindled throughout the castle he kept hope, and defeated the rogue Organization members under Marluxia’s lead. Unknown to Sora, however, was the fact that Riku was working his way up from the basement of the castle, defeating the more powerful Organization members as he did so. Due to this, he lost himself to the darkness, and it was there he took the form of Xehanort’s Heartless, but not in its entirety.

After Sora’s “leave” from the castle, he and his friends were put into a deep slumber by Namine, under new orders from the mysterious man known as DiZ. No one knew his true identity… yet.

Two years passed, with Xemnas regaining control of his Organization, at least what was left of it anyway. To make up for his losses, he recruited Sora’s Nobody, Roxas, and created a Replica named “Xion” just in case Roxas was unable to open the door to Kingdom Hearts. As Sora began to regain his memories though, Xion grew unstable, and Roxas was forced to absorb her in the end. Another of “Xehanort’s” plans had failed…

After the two years were over, Roxas left the Organization after fighting and defeating Riku. After taking his leave, and being hunted down by his former comrades, Roxas was taken by Riku, under the guise of the Ansem Heartless, and DiZ. They used Namine’s memory altering abilities to make Roxas live an illusion inside a digital version of Twilight Town. Axel was sent to reclaim the rogue Nobody, but the Organization’s efforts were futile. Sora returned, and, with the help of Yin Sid, had grown stronger.

Eventually Kingdom Hearts was unlocked again, but at the sacrifice of every organization member besides Xemnas. Still believing in his cause though, Xehanort’s Nobody took in the power of Kingdom Hearts to try his hand at defeating Sora. With Riku’s help though, he was defeated. Xehanort’s existence was thought lost, but in reality it was all part of his plans. He never wanted Kingdom Hearts. He never wanted to destroy the universe. Xehanort simply wanted to test the heart and it’s capabilities. So, in some ways, his experiments were succesful, but at what cost?

One year has past, and Sora, Riku, and Kairi have been resting on the Destiny Islands. Soon enough though, more strange happenings would begin to occur. Who has caused them though? Well… Let’s find out.
